Short-sightedness

It is a  defect of vision also known as myopia, in which an individual has difficulty in clearly focusing on distant objects. Because the eyeball is too long, or the lens is too powerful, light is brought to a focus in front of the retina, producing a blurred image. The defect can be corrected with spectacles.
